DayDreaming...

"Daydreaming
Daydreaming all the time
Daydreaming day
Daydreaming into the night". ~ Hayley Williams

The MAC Hayley Williams collection went totally under the radar.  Everyone (including myself, I'm not going to lie, was anticipating MAC Riri Woo).  However, I'm also a Paramore fan, so I was just as excited for this collection.  The collection was released about two months ago.  There were four items in the collection:  Daydreaming eyeshadow, Sounds like Noise l/s, Lightscapade Mineralize Skinfinish, and Riot Gear (a bright orange nail polish).
The only items I purchased were the eyeshadow and lipstick.  I finally got around to playing with the eyeshadow and created a fresh and bright look.  Scroll to bottom to see list of what I used ...

Make Up Forever Aqua Rouge Review

I was desperate to find a long lasting lipstick for my wedding day.  I did plan to use my Model in a Bottle lipstick sealer, but unfortunately I had to toss it because I broke the tube :-(  Anyway, my coworker told me about this lipstick:  Make Up Forever Aqua Rouge, $24 at Sephora.  I had to try it!  Here is the description from the Sephora website:

What it is:
A liquid lip color that provides the intense and long-lasting hold of a lip stain with the eye-catching shine of a gloss.

What it does:
Formulated with a combination of high molecular weight polymers and volatile oils, Aqua Rouge locks color on the lips for a smudge-proof result that will not transfer or fade. Its intensely pigmented formula provides immediate, opaque color with extreme shine, and its creamy, non-sticky texture glides effortlessly on the lips for comfortable wear.

What else you need to know:
Aqua Rouge’s double-ended packaging allows for a simple, two-step application: apply lip color with precision using the ergonomic, foam applicator and evenly distribute the clear top with the polyester brush to lock the color onto the lips.

The color I am wearing is #15 - Pink.  Sorry for the awful pics, I tend to use my iPhone more than my real camera :-/

So here is the color with the initial application.  It was about 9 am.

In this next photo I used flash so it looks a little brighter.  Around 1 pm I had to do a bit of extra application. I like the fact that it is shiny without being sticky, and the color definitely doesn't smudge.

In this last pic it was the end of the day.  It tends to dry up and crack which doesn't look very nice :-/  It was probably because I had a meal, so for a lipstick that is still on your lips even after you eat I suppose that's good, but I'm not digging the cracked lips.  I still love the lipstick color, but I think its more for a night out when you're just going to have appetizers and drinks.

I would still recommend giving it a try, because I personally suffer from dry lips.  Perhaps it would have helped if I would have exfoliated before applying.  Everyone's lips and skin is different! And Sephora has a really good return policy, so if you don't like it you can return it!

OVERALL PROS & CONS
Pro - Shiny without being sticky
Pro - Good color payoff
Pro -  Long lasting (But now 24/7)
Pro - Does not smudge
Pro - Comes in 17 colors
Con - Dries lips and cracks at end of day
Con - Somewhat difficult to remove

MAC Candy Yum Yum - finally!

I was supposed to have posted this weeks ago!! Story of my life -__-

Better late than never though!!

So I think this lipstick was a big craze about a year or so ago, and of course I didn't think I would like it until I started seeing everyone posting pics and blog posts about it.  I really didn't think it would go well with my skin tone, but it turns out it doesn't look too shabby, yay!

Since the lipstick is so neon pink I decided to keep it simple on the eyes and cheeks.  I can't remember what I used on my eyes, some simple MAC neutrals I'm sure and some Red Cherry lashes.  For my lips I used NYX lip liner in pale pink and MAC Candy Yum Yum on top.  I'm definitely going to try a brighter lip liner next time I use it.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more posts, I'm really trying to keep up with my blog this year.  Have a great week everyone! :-)
