North End Caffe ... DDD Destination!

So besides make-up, I <3 to eat. One of my favorite shows is Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri. And I found this user friendly website that lists all of his destinations by state. It's called http://www.flavortownusa.com/.

I think this is about the 6th DDD spot I've been too, and for the most part they've all been pretty good. This place is in Manhattan Beach, CA. Really small place and right near the beach so it makes for a nice drive. Here is what my boyfriend and I had for late lunch.

Carnitas Tacos.
Which I normally don't eat because I'm not a big pork lover,
but the avocado and salsa verde was pretty delicious.

I ordered the "Fuego" Burger.
Which really was not spicy at all but it had a tiny hint of spice,
but not enough to satisfy my jalapeno eatin' Mexican a$$.
Look at the layers of cheesy-ness! Yum!

And FYI I could only finish half, even with my stretchy pants on! LOL

My b/f ordered the Carbonara Fettucine.
Also featured on the DDD episode. My b/f thought it was too creamy/cheesy.
However, I thought it was perfect, but waaay too much for one person.
You could tell that the pasta is made fresh and not from a box.

I highly recommend this place if you live in So Cal or are just visiting.

Dare to Bare!

This was inspired by Nicoletta, a UK blogger who is awesome! She posted a Dare to Bare Challenge a few weeks ago and I give her props for showing her 'bare' face.

This is me fresh out of the shower ready for bed! Personally, I love that right before I go to sleep I have a fresh clean face. It feels great!

For work I know I have to look presentable in case I have to go to a meeting and what not. And I love to wear fun colors when I go out, but when my face is 'naked' it feels good, like I don't have a care in the world :-) So this is me "Naked"

Everyday look ...

This is what I normally do for an everyday look. I start work at 8 am and I'm waaay too lazy to get up and take the time to use more than one eyeshadow ...

So here is a list of what I generally use everyday, this takes me about 20 minutes, is that too long?:

Eyes:
Two Faced eye primer
MAC paint pot (either Rubenesque, Groundwork, or Bare Study, etc)
Matte Sephora shadow in Creme Caramel
Colorful eyeliner (in this pic I'm using Stila smudge pot in Cobalt)

Face:
Papa Don't Peach Blush (Too Faced)
Smashbox anti-shine
Smashbox Photo finish primer
MAC Face & Body Foundation (I forget which number) but it's really light/sheer and
doesn't feel heavy
MakeUp Forever Concealer to cover my dark circles :-(
MakeUp Forever HD powder to set ...

Lips:
Lipstick in MAC Ravishing
Sephora lip gloss in Rose Glow

Sephora Waterproof Flashy liners

I never see many reviews on Sephora brand products. I've used a few of their eyeshadows, liquid eyeliners, and these pencil liners. I LOVE these flashy liners. They look really good when you apply dark shadows and use these as bright eyeliners, they really stand out. Below I've done swatches of the colors I have ... They are $8 bucks each which I think is a bargain ... I have yet to get my hands on that flashy bright green and violet ...

From top to bottom: Flashy blue, flashy green, flashy orange, flashy pink (discontinued I think), and flashy black.

Banana-Walnut Oatmeal ... YUM!

So I love oatmeal and I found this recipe on eatingwell.com. Just something to make it more tasty and different from regular oatmeal with brown sugar, which is what I usually do. I'm not a big fan of those instant oatmeal packets that are already flavored. If I want strawberries or blueberries or bananas in my oatmeal I want them fresh! :-) This takes less than 10 minutes to make. No sugar added because the ripe banana and in my case honey (instead of maple syrup) give it a natural sweetness ... Here is the link to the Banana-Walnut Oatmeal recipe ... OH! and I used pecans because that's what I had on hand, I think slivered almonds would work too! You can always mix it up ... the website has a ton of other yummy recipes and they're pretty healthy too ... enjoy!
