Stila Charmed Palette

I bought this palette a few years back and I don't play with it very often. I love all the colors and they are super pigmented. I have used the teal/turquoise color a few times as an eyeliner, as well as the dark purple color. They can be used wet as well. The Stila website actually still sells it, but it's included in a set.

I used the gold/bronze color on lid, purple color in crease...

Pink color above crease blended out, and the turquoise as a bottom liner.
I used MAC Yogurt e/s right under my brow.
Sephora Long Lasting Liner in Navy Blue (color discontinued, but they have other great colors!)

With flash

Now that I have bangs again you can't really see my eyeshadow,
but I really wanted
to play with my makeup this day.

Thanks for stopping by ;-)

INGLOT lipsticks ...

I got these Inglot lipsticks at The Makeup Show in February. I don't know why I got similar colors, I should have chosen more carefully, but oh well, I still like them nonetheless. I got two Matte lipsticks and two Slim Gel lipsticks. I'm sure I'll be able to do some good mixing with these. Below are some swatches and pics of each one.

Slim Gel Lipstick #58, and Matte lipstick #412

#58 & #412

Slim Gel lipstick in #43, and Matte lipstick in #401

#43 & #401

In this pic I'm wearing Slim Gel l/s in #58

In this pic I'm wearing Slim Gel l/s in #43

For both lipsticks I used MAC subculture lip liner as a base because I always carry it with me in my purse. And to be honest they both are long-lasting, if you're not eating of course. I mean usually I eat my lipstick off my lips or lick it off somehow, but I was surprised how long they lasted. I have yet to try the Matte colors, but I will soon!

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer & One Step Complexion Brush

Another item I got from The Makeup Show is the Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer and this awesome brush! They were offering a sweet discount at the show so I had to have it! It works great with the tinted moisturizer. The big fluffy side is to blend the moisturizer (or any other foundation), and the little fluffy side is to blend in concealer. It is a bit pricey for one brush, but I was fortunate to only have to pay a little more than half :-D Here is further description from Stila's website:

#33 One Step Complexion Brush

This dual-ended foundation and concealer brush allows you to blend both liquid and powder products seamlessly for effortless makeup application and a flawless finish.
One side beautifully blends liquid, creams and powder foundation into your skin, while the other delivers precision concealing for a perfected, polished complexion.
The synthetic bristles are shaped to imitate application with your fingertips, but are firmer and more flexible for quicker, easier makeup application.

• The tapered brush tip can burrow into tiny, hard-to-reach crevice
• Synthetic bristles eliminate the transfer of oils and bacteria
• Can also be used to apply eye shadow and cheek color

This brush does double-duty! There is no need to carry a whole brush set anymore, a flawless complexion (and color) can be achieved with just one brush!

This is after I've blended in everything. Gives a natural look and moisturizer feels nice and light. I think this is one of my new favorite brushes!

Foodie Friday

I think Fridays will be about food ... I'll either post recipes I've made, want to try, food my friends and family make, or delicious food in restaurants :-) So today I'm going to post a recipe of a vegetarian lasagna. It's not completely vegan because I used real cheese (there's no way I could ever give up cheese), but I did use faux ground beef by Morning Star. I'm not really a vegetarian, I do like meat, but I just don't eat it very often. My mom has been a vegetarian for a long time now and a lot of what she makes and uses has rubbed off on me, which I don't mind because its actually pretty delicious and it's healthier :-) So here's the recipe and some pics ... and also a link to the recipe from Morningstar Farms ... it has some more information with nutrition facts if you're interested.

Ingredients

1 can (14 1/2 oz.) diced Italian style tomatoes
1 jar (14 oz.) spaghetti sauce
8 ounces MorningStar Farms® Meal Starters™ Grillers® Recipe Crumbles™
8 ounces lasagna noodles, uncooked
16 ounces fat-free cottage cheese
3/4 cup Mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Directions

1. Combine tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, and MORNINGSTAR FARMS Burger Style Recipe Crumbles in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.

2. Spread 1/3 of tomato mixture in bottom of 11 x 7-inch baking dish. Arrange 1/2 of the uncooked noodles over the sauce. Spread 1/2 the cottage cheese over the noodles. Top with another 1/3 of the sauce. Repeat using remaining noodles, cottage cheese, and sauce. Cover with aluminum foil.

3. Bake at 350° F for 50 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Return to oven uncovered for 5 minutes to melt cheese. Let stand for 10 minutes, sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Oops I posted without the pics ... here they are, my bad!

**Hope you get a chance to try it, Enjoy!**

Model in a Bottle Brow Sealer

I LOVE THIS STUFF! My eyebrow hairs are long and straight so they tend to just look like bushy grandpa eyebrows a few minutes after I brush them. I've tried brow wax and I think even hairspray at one point but seriously nothing would work. I kept hearing good things about Model in a Bottle so I decided to stop by the booth at the Makeup Show and finally purchase some brow sealer. This small bottle was only 8 bucks! It's usually 12, so I saved a couple of bucks :-)

These are my brows without the brow sealer ...
Blah! I went a whole day without it just to take pics, LOL

With the brow sealer they stay nice and shaped all day! Yay!
(Different day as you can see by the eyeliner. You can really see the difference in my brows :-)

I highly recommend this product if you have unruly eyebrows. The price is really affordable because you don't need to use that much of the liquid. A little goes a long way! Hope you guys try it!

ReVamped

Did not have time to do my eyeshadow this day so I quickly did a neutral eye and red lips :-)

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection
Sephora Shadow in Creme Caramel
MAC black Penultimate Eyeliner

Lips:
NYX Hot Red lip pencil
NYX Black Label Lipstick in Revamped

I want to go back!!!

Last year I got to go to Ireland, and I really want to go back ... Not just because I love Irish accents :-) For some reason when I think of going on vacation I really don't think of Hawaii and such. I want to go to places like Scotland, England, and Ireland (of course). I really think I must have been British or something in a past life ...

Anyway, I loved the food, the places, and the people are generally nice. Sure it was extra chilly even though the sun was out for most of the week that I was there, but I love chilly weather where I can wear boots and coats. So, I just wanted to share some pics of my trip last year :-)

The Guinness Factory. Not a fan of Guinness but I do love Harp and Smithwicks!

The Clarence Hotel that is owned by Bono and The Edge from U2 (My favorite Irishmen).
One day I'll stay here!

Guinness Factory in Dublin. And also a dorky pic of me and bro-in-law.
Cliffs of Moher. They filmed a scene here from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!

A poppin' spot for drinkin' and havin' fun ;-)
St. Patricks Road!

Cuticle Care

I'm sure a lot of you beauty gurus already take care of your nails and cuticles a certain way, but I just wanted to recommend this awesome cuticle care product called California Mango Mend.

My friend brought it to work one day and let me try some. It's a little greasy, but you only need a tiny bit. It really helps with dryness. You can also use it for dry hands overall and for cracked heels. I put some on my feet at night after I shower and cover them up with socks. Of course my feet always get hot at night and I end up taking off my socks, but at least for an hour they can hydrate with this stuff. It's under $10 bucks and it lasts forever! I got mine at Sally's Beauty Supply, not sure if they sell it anywhere else. However, I'm pretty sure they sell a travel size, so you can buy the smaller version if you want to test it out first :-) Hope some of you give it a try!

Inglot Highlighting Powder

I love this highlighter! It's hard to capture with a camera but it looks great in daylight :-) This is the INGLOT AMC Multicolor System Highlighter in #83. I used the middle three colors for the highlight in the pics below, which are light gold, soft pink and a beige type color. You can definitely mix it up if you want more of a white sheen or light bronze sheen. I can't wait to get more!

In this pic I also used MAC To the Beach Bronzer in Golden

For my lips I used MAC To the Beach Collection in Frost Thrills,
with MAC Costa Chic on top (lately I've been loving Costa Chic)

I love that you can see specs of gold from the Frost Thrills l/s

Thanks for stopping by :-)

INGLOT swatches ... Finally!

It's been about two weeks since I went to The Makeup Show here in Los Angeles. And I've finally gotten around to swatching my Inglot shadows. I don't know how so many of you keep up with your kids, home life, doing tutorials, blogging and so many other things, I give you ladies props! :-)

Now on to my INGLOT shadows, yay! I was so excited to finally get some because I've seen so many other postings and swatches about how great they are. Unfortunately, I only got one 10-color palette, and three extra that I bought off my cousin/fellow makeup addict @Makeup_Monster :-) because she got extra ones in her bag :-D . I'm trying really hard not to go crazy this year on buying makeup, because last year I went crazy at IMATS, MAC and Sephora. This year I'm learning to budget better and all that jazz. Okay enough talk, and lets get to the swatches!

Shadows with flash

Shadows without flash (not sure why the rest of the pics came out vertical, sorry!)

Right column: AMC Shine 40, DS 494, Matte 379, Pearl 399, Pearl 450 (Top to Bottom)

Left Column: AMC 58, AMC Shine 44, AMC Shine 32, Matte 372, DS 473 (Top to Bottom)

Three colors flying solo: AMC 49, Pearl 426, Pearl 405 (Top to Bottom)

All the colors were swatched without a base. Personally, I think each color is great! The textures of these shadows are velvety, smooth, and easy to blend. I haven't played with them much except with the dark blue color (Pearl 426). I can't wait to get a chance to play with them all! I really think everyone should have some INGLOT in there lives, and just recently they've opened a US online store http://www.inglotusa.com/ Yay!!

Oh and I also purchased some lipsticks, a pigment (yes just one) and a highlighter which I will post swatches of soon, I promise!

Thanks for stopping by my lil' blog ;-)

MakeUp Show L.A. - Product Haul

I was so excited to go to the MakeUp show because I had never been. I knew it was going to be smaller than IMATS which was good because I figured it wouldn't be insanely crowded, but at the same time there aren't as many booths, but nonetheless I still had fun! I went with my fellow makeup addict Makeup Monster (check out her blog, she has some good reviews :-)

I promised myself I wouldn't go on a crazy shopping spree as I'm trying to be frugal this year and not spend so much money on makeup. So this is what I got (swatches and reviews coming soon!):

1 Inglot 10 palette
4 Inglot lipsticks (Two fell out in the trunk and Makeup Monster has them ;-)
1 Inglot Highlight compact
1 Inglot pigment

2 Stila Tinted moisturizers (which I love by the way)
1 Stila Kajal liner in topaz
1 Stila #33 brush

4 Crown Brushes

1 Model in a Bottle Brow sealer (which so far has tamed my crazy grandpa brows! LOVE IT)
1 Model in a Bottle Lipstick sealer (haven't tried it yet but I will soon)

Close up of the Inglot shadows, which are SUPER pigmented

EDUN Blue

I felt like using some fun but soft colors this day and I hardly ever use my EDUN palette. This was a limited time palette that was available at Sephora last summer. I really wanted it because EDUN is Bono's and his wife's company, and I love me some Bono :-)

Anyway, I've seen other bloggers take pics of the products they use which I think is a great idea because I forget to make a list and I forget. So here is what I used on my eyes:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
MAC Rubensque paint pot
Sephora shadow in Creme Caramel
MAC VV She Who Dares (Blue side as liner)
Naked Pigment in Tropical Indulgence (Bottom liner)

EDUN palette (Blue shadow on lid and outer crease)
Urban Decay Deluxe Palette (Snatch in inner crease and corner)
Stila Red Carpet Look Palette (White/Beige Color as highlight)

Here's what I used on my lips:

MAC Cremestick Liner in Summerfruit
MAC l/s in High Tea
Sephora gloss in Rosy Glow

Here's the look:

It looks a little different in the dark with the flash on ... oh well!
